My Favorite Paper - My Education Experiences

Now that I am in school, it is funny to think that my favorite paper was about my difficult experiences in school.  The title of the paper is "The Day I Stopped Writing" was a small window into my disappointment of education.  Imagine a student enrolled in advanced classes and scoring in high percentiles, I was left behind in the sixth grade because my teacher did not like my family.

I enjoyed writing this paper because it made me rethink the past in my own style.  Because I was writing about myself, I was able to write how I talk.  I didn't have to give evidence.  It was my story.  I always said I would write a book.  Maybe this was the beginning of that idea.

I think I could add more details to make it more interesting.  I could also write more about what my sister, Wanda, experienced in Mrs. Shirley's class.  Also, maybe giving a time or year to let the audience know why this is important to the time.

How to Write a Good Argumentative essays Videos

I really appreciated the videos.  They gave me visuals to go with the ideas.  The logical patterns were interesting to hear as I never thought about writing in this way.  It reminds me of my brother, June, who is an attorney and how he debates in our family.

The visuals and graphic organizers helped my thoughts get more centered.  It also helped me organize my thoughts and ideas.

Patterns of Error

When writing I tend to write 3 things over and over:  "you", not stating my argument clearly, and minimal evidence.  These errors affect my writing because they distract from the main point and do not strengthen my writing.

The constant use of "you" to find my audience does not create a well written essay.  Learning to write without using my writing like a conversation does not help in academic writing.  Therefore, I need to reread my writing before and try to rewrite the sentences to be direct, without stating "you".

When I am not clear with my point of view, the audience cannot understand its purpose. I need to add more details to my statements to defend my arguement.

Sometimes I think my word is my word:  What I say is what I know?  This is my evidence.  I am learning to build resources to support my main ideas with other supporting details.  This will help considering evidence is part of writing arguments.
